Poem: "A Gift Given"

A Gift Given
By: Eve Estelle

A gift was given
To me by you;
A gift that is
Just one of few.
But this one gift
Will be the last -
So, truly, I say
Thank you.

    1. Oh, thank you so much, Chioma! I'm glad you enjoyed the poem, and I really appreciate the nomination. It might be a couple of days before I can get that posted, but I'll have it up as as soon as possible. Thank you again!

  2. This is a great poem! It's short and sweet, which gives the impression that gift is very precious. The gift, being one of few and the last, makes the entire poem seem much more emotional, and the thank-you at the end is very sincere. Beautifully written! :)

    1. Yes! That's just how I hoped it would come across, thank you. :) I recently stumbled upon a little gift that my dad, who passed away a few months ago, had given me and it made me think of him. Most of my poems aren't personal - but once in a while I throw one like this in there lol.

      Thank you for commenting and stopping by, Erika! And for the follow. :)

    1. I usually try to avoid making such short pieces, but sometimes you just need a short one. :) I like the result of this one. Thanks for the comment, Sakshi!

  5. Aww Eve this poem is just too sweet. It doesn't matter how short this poem is. The important thing is how much it means. And we can see it in here :D Thanks for sharing :)

    1. You're so right, Heena! It feels like I'm shorting you guys when I post such small things - but, like I said in an above comment, sometimes a few lines is all you need to express your point or tell the story. :) Thank you as always for reading!

  6. Love your poetry! Short, sweet, and incredibly meaningful. I like how there are so wasted or unnecessary lines in your poems. This one is a great example :) Kudos for making the most out of your words.
