Poem: "White Dove In Mourning"

Vio WallpaperCave; edited

White Dove In Mourning
By: Eve Estelle

O, little white dove,
Whose head hangs low,
Hung in sorrow,
Over the dreary form
Of thy partner;
How still --
What stains befoul
That ivory plumage,
Untouched by tears
And lachrymose coos.

O, little white dove,
Sweet, euphonic singer,
Close not an eye, no,
Nor turn thy head away;
For there lies thine olive branch,
Broken, withered, in two.
